The end of David’s life reminds us of the promise that his descendants, will be on the throne forever, but things don’t always go the way we plan. David’s descendants are unfaithful, and the kingdom fractures and is overthrown. And yet, God fulfills his promise to David through an unexpected descendant, born in the humblest of ways, who rules not only Israel, but all creation? The King is born today!
