Saved and Sustained
Bible Text: Isaiah 66:10-14 | Pastor: Kale Hanson | Series: Pentecost | In the Gospel for today (Luke 10:1-20), Jesus sends out seventy-two of His followers with power to heal and cast out demons. They go and do as Jesus asks. When they come back, they are rejoicing that even the demons were subject to them in the name of Jesus. Jesus refocuses them on what is more important; that their names are written in heaven. This past week we celebrated the birthdays of both our nation and our town, Bethalto. In this time of reflection on the institutions through which God blesses us, we remember our ultimate reason for rejoicing; we have been saved by the blood of Jesus and our names are written in heaven.
